Spotlight

When Marty Baron (Schreiber) takes over as the editor of The Boston Globe in 2001, he learns that the newspaper has a "Spotlight" team -- a group of journalists, led by Robby Robinson (Keaton), that focuses on in-depth investigative pieces that can take months to research. When a small article in the paper about a pedophile priest catches Baron's eye, he has the Spotlight team investigate the story more thoroughly. When it's finally published, their findings shock the world and rock one of the world's oldest institutions to its core with allegations that dozens of priests in the city were known pedophiles -- a fact covered up by the local Catholic Archdiocese.

The Good Dinosaur

When the asteroid that should have wiped out the dinosaurs instead narrowly misses Earth, life goes on pretty much as usual for the prehistoric beasts. After millions of years, the dinosaurs have developed civilization. A young apatasaurus named Arlo (Ochoa) works on a farm with his family, but is too cowardly and timid to help out with most of the chores. After his father (Wright) is killed in a flash flood and Arlo becomes separated from the rest of his family, he ends up befriending a feral "pest" -- a young human cave boy, whom Arlo names Spot (Bright).

Director: Peter Sohn. Stars: Jeffrey Wright, Raymond Ochoa, Jack Bright, Frances McDormand. 2015. 93 min. Animation.

It's the perfect suburban life for Laney Brooks (Silverman): she has a handsome and loving husband (Charles), two beautiful, smart children and a lovely home. Behind the scenes of this perfect life, though, it's a different, darker story. She takes drugs, commits adultery and even disappears for days on end. As her destructive actions threaten to rip her family apart for good, Laney tries to ignore the many temptations that surround her to finally face the unresolved issues that she's dealt with since her childhood.

Director: Adam Salky. Stars: Sarah Silverman, Josh Charles, Skylar Gaertner, Shayne Coleman. 2015. 85 min. Drama.

Jimmy Kimmel Live

On CNN last night they had what they call a town hall meeting, where the Democratic candidates tried to woo Iowa voters. The only clear winner was the farmer who got $30,000 to let CNN park their satellite trucks in his cornfield.

Trump has claimed that Megyn Kelly is unfair. That makes sense. Fox News has a long and dark history of being unfair to Republicans.

Q: Has Dan Aykroyd done any voice work?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Dan Aykroyd was never big on voice work before, but he seems to have gotten quite into it lately.

Most notably, he voiced the titular above-average bear in 2010's "Yogi Bear," the classic character's big-screen, computer-animated adventure. Aykroyd turned in a pretty good impression of Daws Butler, the voice actor who made the character famous.

Despite the critical acclaim that Showtime's "Shameless" and its British forerunner have enjoyed, the American dramedy doesn't seem to generate a ton a buzz.

Q: Is it true that Jackie Chan was in "Enter the Dragon"?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Few people give the cast of "Enter the Dragon" (1973) the credit it deserves as a cinematic martial arts all-star team.

The film's star, Bruce Lee, is of course a legend in the genre, and "Enter the Dragon" is his most famous film. And serious fans know that the film's co-star, Jim Kelly, went on to a little fame of his own in the 1974 cult-favorite "Black Belt Jones" (and the less well-loved 1978 sequel "Black Belt Jones 2").

Survivor: Kaoh Rong, on CBS
