The answer to your first question depends on which voice-overs you're referring to. But regardless, the answer to your second question is probably "no."

The voice doing the promotional material (the "tonight on 'Big Brother'" guy) is Clayton Halsey, while the voice inside the house (talking to the residents) is Don Wollman. For both men, the job is a rare bit of on-air work in a career otherwise spent behind the scenes.

"Big Brother" runs a pretty tight ship — when you air that much content, you probably have to — and so both Wollman and Halsey perform other tasks for the show. Wollman is a producer and Halsey is an editor.

If you have seen their names elsewhere, it's in this capacity.

Wollman has worked as a producer on a wide variety of other unscripted shows, including awards shows, an installment of "New Year's Rockin' Eve" and 1998's "Exposed! Pro Wrestling's Greatest Secrets." He also worked on "The Weird Al Show" in 1997, because who could turn that down?

Halsey has a similarly broad resume as an editor, but with more scripted stuff on it. That doesn't necessarily make it more prestigious, though — if you enjoyed the editing work on the direct-to-video sports-action film "The Breakout" (2008), you can thank Halsey.

Both men were working on "Big Brother" in their behind-the-scenes capacity first and were asked to begin doing voice work later.

In an interview with Yahoo News, Wollman was charmingly matter-of-fact about the process: "Somebody just said to me, 'Hey, would you like to do that?' I said, 'Oh, OK.'"
