Fewer. "Let's Make a Deal" shoots three shows per day, while "The Price Is Right" generally shoots two.

The main reason for the difference is pretty obvious: time. "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune" are half-hour shows, while "Let's Make a Deal" and "The Price Is Right" are both an hour long.

However, you have to also figure that the longer shows need to spend a bit more time on pre-taping crowd work. They all do it, if only to keep the crowd busy while things get set up, but "Price" and "Deal" require a whole lot more audience participation -- crowd members have to jump around, squeal and, you know, play the game.

The crowds for "Jeopardy" and "Wheel," on the other hand, don't have to get up to much besides cheering (politely, in "Jeopardy's" case) and, once per episode, shouting the show's name in unison (in "Wheel's" case).

Logically, this shooting schedule also means less downtime for the "Price" and "Deal" crews. Their shows air the same number of episodes per week as the shorter shows but produce half as many per day.

That doesn't seem to bother "Price" host Drew Carey, though. In an interview with Yahoo TV, he said, "Being in this energy all day is amazing."
