Having the gaunt face and sunken eyes of famed Hollywood weirdo Christopher Walken could be considered a curse, unless you're pursuing a career in horror movies. That's what Tobin Bell has done, and he's done well.
Bell has starred as serial killer John (Jigsaw) Kramer in all seven of the high-grossing (pun intended) "Saw" films.
Bell's other credits mostly run in the same genre, including titles such as "Buried Alive" (2007), "Boogeyman 2" (also 2007) and its sequel the following year. Now that the "Saw" series appears to be finished (the most recent entry, released in 2010, was subtitled "The Final Chapter"), Bell is remaining in the horror business, having just wrapped an indie pic called "Haunted."
The earlier entries on Bell's resume show a little more diversity, though. In fact, it seems that his success with the "Saw" franchise has opened a lot of slow, creaking doors for the 69-year-old star.
Prior to the first "Saw" film in 2004, Bell was a sort of jack-of-all-trades, appearing in smallish roles in all sorts of different films. In fact, his debut role was as a waiter in the hit 1982 cross-dressing comedy "Tootsie."
He's also done a fair bit of television as well, including a brief arc on the second season of "24" in 2003, plus a role in the 2005 NBC miniseries "Revelations."
