Q: Will "Southern Charm" and "Magic City" return for another season? I love Charleston and the old cars in Miami.

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Well, Charleston's "Charm" has persisted, but Miami proved less than magical for Starz viewers.

Bravo has indeed renewed "Southern Charm," a reality show about the "unique and insular culture" of Charleston high society, for a second season, but "Magic City" was canceled by the Starz network after two fairly low-rated seasons.

But good on Starz for sticking with it. "Magic City," set in the world of organized crime in Miami in the 1950s, was an under-performer more or less from the start.

Q: Is Michael Weatherly from "NCIS" Robert Wagner's son in real life? Or just on the show?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Michael Weatherly and Robert Wagner are not, in fact, related in real life, but neither you, nor the "NCIS" casting agents, are the first to notice a resemblance. That distinction goes to the producers of "The Mystery of Natalie Wood" (2004).

Six years before Wagner appeared on "NCIS" as the father of Weatherly's character, Weatherly actually portrayed Wagner in that film, which told the story of the mysterious death of Wagner's wife, rising starlet Natalie Wood.

The line between reality and non-reality television has always been a bit blurry. The genre has been plagued with accusations of scripting interactions, coercing their subjects into taking atypical actions and even predetermining the outcomes of various shows.
