I enjoyed the Pope's visit. It was nice to see Americans get excited about someone who wasn't a Kardashian or a rat with a slice of pizza.

'Billions' of accolades: Showtime's latest original series has recruited some stars with a lot of awards and nominations to their names. OK, maybe not quite billions of awards (that would be impossibly impressive), but Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis sure have an impressive array of accolades between them.

New Releases for the week of October 25 - 31

Pixels

In the year 1982, a time capsule containing a videocassette of a video game tournament is launched into space and soon forgotten about by the kids who participated in the tournament. Now, two of those kids' lives have gone in different directions: one is the president of the United States (James), while the other is a home theater installer (Sandler). When giant video game characters from the 1980s attack Earth, confusion reigns until it's realized that the extraterrestrials must have accessed the time capsule and are using the pixilated game characters as models for their weapons. With Earth's armed forces losing every battle, the president recruits his childhood arcade buddies to anticipate the aliens' tactics and save the planet from pixilated destruction.

Q: I heard Benedict Cumberbatch say in an interview that both his parents are actors. Would we know them from anything?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Well, you probably know them from "Sherlock."

Benedict Cumberbatch's real-life parents, Timothy Carlton (born Cumberbatch) and Wanda Ventham, played his parents on screen in two episodes of the show that made him a star.

But there are literally dozens of other reasons you might know them -- both have been longtime supporting stars on film and TV in Britain.

Heroes Reborn, on NBC

People with extraordinary abilities attempt to hide their powers in the wake of a devastating terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, in this new episode. Jack Coleman reprises his role as Noah Bennet, a character from the original "Heroes" series who's gone off the grid.
