Q: I remember a sitcom, I think it was called "The Good Life," that took place in a lock-manufacturing company. In my opinion, it was one of the funniest shows ever. For some strange reason, it just disappeared. I would love to know the names of the funny

"The Good Life" lasted just one season in 1994 on NBC, which is a surprise since it introduced sitcom fans to Drew Carey.

Carey, who is of course now better known for hosting "The Price Is Right," played a sidekick to the show's actual star, fellow stand-up comedian John Caponera. By the following year, however, Carey was on his own sitcom, "The Drew Carey Show," which was significantly more successful.

Q: In 2005 or near that time, I watched a movie on IFC that was a simulated newscast about a group of young people in a tent in the New Jersey woods being pursued by someone or something. Can you tell me the name of the movie and whether it is available o

It sounds like the movie you're thinking of is "The Last Broadcast" (1998), one of multiple horror movies based on the legend of the Jersey Devil.

According to the New Jersey Historical Society, the Jersey Devil is a creature that stalks the remote wooded area known as the Pine Barrens, with numerous attacks and "blood-curdling cries" ascribed to it. The legend is that the devil is the cursed, 13th child of Deborah Smith Leeds, who lived in the region in the 1700s.

Q: What happened with “The Whispers”? Did it really end that way, never to return, or will it be coming back?

There are a couple of reasons why the renewal or cancelation of ABC's summer thriller, "The Whispers," has been tricky -- one of which is the reason why your question is tricky as well.

The network hasn't made a decision on the series. It wasn't an outright hit in the ratings, though its "plus-three" numbers -- that is, the people who watch the show within three days on their DVRs (digital video recorders) -- were reportedly a lot better.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, on CW

After bumping into her former summer-camp crush, Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom) decides to quit her job and move across the country to be closer to him in this premiere. However, she soon learns that Josh (Vincent Rodriguez III) already has a girlfriend.
