American expat Mickey Pearson (McConaughey) decides to retire from his successful marijuana business in London and makes plans to sell his enterprise off to an American billionaire (Strong) for $4 million. When word of this exchange reaches a Chinese gang member (Golding), he approaches Pearson with an offer of his own but is refused. What follows is a barrage of schemes, blackmail and bribery as the men fight to obtain Pearson's highly valued drug empire.
Two best friends, idealist Mel (Byrne) and realist Mia (Haddish), create the cosmetics company of their dreams, but their clashing personalities quickly run the company into debt, forcing them to seek financial backing from Claire Luna (Hayek), the head of a large beauty line. Unbeknownst to the feuding friends, Luna plans to acquire Mia and Mel's business in order to benefit from their most popular product. Mia and Mel turn to Luna's former business partner for help, but first they must settle their own differences so they can start taking back their business from the cunning Luna.
Thirty-two years after William H. Pitsenbarger (Irvine), a U.S. Air Force pararescueman, put his life on the line to save more than 60 men during the Vietnam War, his rescue partner (Hurt) and parents submit a request for a Medal of Honor to be awarded in his name. Pentagon worker Scott (Stan) is tasked with investigating the request and proceeds to interview the veterans saved by Pitsenbarger's actions during the war. His investigation takes an unexpected turn when questions arise concerning why it took so long for Pitsenbarger's deeds to be recognized, and Scott begins the search for a different kind of truth.
