Ina Garten in “Be My Guest”

As the host of the Daytime Emmy-winning series “Barefoot Contessa” (2002 to present), Ina Garten is used to welcoming cameras and camera crews and, of course, viewers into her East Hampton home, where she deconstructs recipes and whips up multi-course meals in just 20 (TV) minutes.

But in “Be My Guest With Ina Garten,” the TV chef gets to share the screen with some famous faces. Through two seasons, we’ve seen her welcome “old and new friends” – such as chef Marcus Samuelsson and singer Faith Hill – “into her home for good food, great conversation and lots of fun” (per Food Network), as the Barefoot Contessa and her guests swap life stories and recipes for their signature dishes.

Season 3, which brings a new lineup of celebrity guests, premieres Sunday, March 12, on Food Network Canada. The series is also available on the Global TV app and StackTV.

In the third season premiere, Garten welcomes ballerina Misty Copeland to her home, where they’ll spend “a dream day at the barn” (per Food Network). A toast is in order, considering Copeland’s achievements, and they’ll get things started with Kir Royale cocktails and herbed ricotta bruschetta. The two will then launch into a conversation about Copeland’s upbringing, her history-making career as American Ballet Theatre’s first Black female principal dancer, “and the moment she thought it was all over.”

A major key to success is the ability to overcome adversity, and that subject practically guarantees an interesting conversation – especially when it comes up in an episode of “Be My Guest With Ina Garten.”

In an interview with USA Today, Garten explained: "People think that successful people just were more talented. What I found is successful people are successful because they power through problems. If they hit a wall, they figure out some way around the wall or over the wall. They get rid of the wall."

It should be interesting to hear Copeland reflect on the challenges she faced, and the twists and turns she experienced in her life and career. After their conversation, Copeland will step into Garten’s kitchen, where she’ll share her family’s favourite go-to dinner of citrus salmon and mashed butternut squash.

Don’t miss the Season 3 premiere of “Be My Guest With Ina Garten,” airing March 12 on Food Network.
