The Space Between Us

While en route to Mars, an astronaut (Montgomery) learns that she is pregnant, and soon gives birth to the first human born on the red planet. Sadly, she dies during childbirth. The child, Gardner (Butterfield), grows up in the small colony with only 14 other people, and after turning 16, he finds a video of his mother with a man he's convinced is his father. He secretly stows away aboard a ship headed to Earth, intending to both find the man he believes is his dad and to meet a girl (Robertson) that he's met online. As he finds out, though, growing up on Mars hasn't prepared him for the radically different conditions found on Earth, both physical and social.
