Late Laughs for the week of November 2 - 8, 2014

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: Jimmy Fallon

On Saturday, the San Francisco Giants beat the Nationals in Washington in 18 innings. It was the longest post-season game in baseball history, proving that even in sports, it takes forever to get something done in Washington.

The No. 1 movie from this weekend, “Gone Girl,” made $38 million. It's about a wife whose husband tried to make her sit through an 18-inning baseball game.

How can you tell when a TV show is a hit?

Well, there's the usual metrics, I guess. Ratings, water cooler chit-chat, Internet buzz. The first season of Fox's "MasterChef Junior" had all of those things, but consider this little metric: Fox ordered up a third season of the pint-sized culinary competition before it had even begun production of the second.

Q: Will Robert Downey Jr. be doing another Sherlock Holmes movie? I loved the first two.

Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Apparently, former Hollywood black sheep and current Hollywood darling Robert Downey Jr. will indeed be returning to the role of the great detective, but no one will say when.

Warner did give a thumbs-up to a third installment, apparently before the second was even released, but everyone involved is pretty busy these days.

Grimm, on NBC

Spend Halloween with Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), a descendent of criminal profilers who've protected the innocent from dangerous fairy-tale creatures for hundreds of years. This season, Team Grimm must up its game as even more monsters threaten the people of Portland.

Q: What ever happened to Cojo on "Entertainment Tonight"?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

It was a quiet sort of departure for occasional "Entertainment Tonight" contributor Steven Cojocaru (better known as Cojo).

The outspoken fashion critic left the show in early 2012 without any official announcement, goodbye or anything of the sort.

However, when the show didn't include him in its 2012 awards season coverage (his best-and-worst-dressed reports from the awards shows had become his hallmark), it was clear that they were splitting up.

The 100, on The CW

Clarke (Eliza Taylor) presses President Wallace (Raymond J. Barry) for answers as she grows more suspicious in this new episode. Elsewhere, Abby (Paige Turco) is forced to perform emergency surgery, and Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) grills a member of The 100.
