I read that more than 100 million people tuned in to tonight's Super Bowl on NBC. In response, NBC will be re-airing the Super Bowl every Thursday night at 8 p.m.

 

There was actually a fight between some Patriots and Seahawks at the end of the game. I'm not saying it was embarrassing for the Seahawks, but the Patriots won that, too.

 

New Releases for the week of March 1 - 7

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

Picking up immediately after the events of the 75th Hunger Games, the third "Hunger Games" film continues the story of Katniss Everdeen's (Lawrence) struggle against the tyrannical Capital and its cold-hearted leader, President Snow (Sutherland). After being rescued by an unexpected ally (Hoffman), Katniss is taken to the rebellion's hideout beneath the ruins of District 13, where she is reunited with her mother and sister. As a symbol who has inspired resistance throughout the nation, Katniss is soon being courted by the leaders of the rebellion to star in a series of propaganda videos in support of their cause. With her friend and portrayed lover Peeta (Hutcherson) left behind by the rebellion and taken captive by the despised President Snow, though, Katniss resists their efforts to recruit her -- until the resistance shows her the ruins of her own destroyed district and the true brutality of their enemy. She agrees to help them on one condition: that they rescue and pardon Peeta.

Foxcatcher

Based on a true story, this film depicts the historical events surrounding multimillionaire John E. du Pont's (Carell) attempts to train an Olympic-level wrestling team. A lifelong wrestling enthusiast, du Pont recruits Mark (Tatum) and David (Ruffalo) Shultz, two brothers and Olympic gold medal-winning wrestlers, to train a top-level wrestling team. However, du Pont's demanding and erratic behavior leads to him driving one of the brothers to doubt his own abilities, and ultimately, to a shocking and deadly confrontation.

The Captive

After her disappearance eight years ago, some disturbing new evidence emerges that indicates Cassandra (Fast) might still be alive. The Bold and the Beautiful

Despite opposition from the Forrester employees, Eric stands firm in his support of Rick as CEO. Rick takes swift action when he hears that Ridge is gathering witnesses to speak out against him in an attempt to change Eric's mind. Meanwhile, Ridge is conflicted between his loyalty to Eric and his anger toward Rick when Liam approaches him about the planned Spencer takeover of Forrester Creations. Steffy makes a bold move on Liam, and Ivy soon confronts her about it, having witnessed the whole thing from the shadows. Eric has a conversation with Brooke about the confidence they have in their son, despite Rick's recent bout of bad behavior, but Eric declines Brooke's invitation to continue the conversation over drinks. In Aspen, Bill and Katie bask in the glow of their honeymoon as they enjoy being newlyweds once again, and they ponder which man Brooke will get her hooks into next. Deacon finds himself at Il Giardino with Brooke, and he struggles with whether to accept her invitation to stay with her or go home to Quinn. When Deacon finally does return home, Quinn confronts him about his feelings for Brooke.

Days of Our Lives

JJ starts to freak out when he suspects that Paige may know that he's been sleeping with her mother. Later, Eve's jealousy threatens to throw a wrench in JJ's plan to keep Paige off track. Meanwhile, Serena is desperate to figure out who has the statue now that Eric has given it away. Eric agrees to get it back for her, but he hits a roadblock. Melanie urges Daniel to find forgiveness for Nicole, while Hope recalls a painful memory. Across town, Will fights to save his marriage as he pleads with Sonny to forgive him. Paul's mother, Tori, arrives in Salem intent on getting her son to go back home with her. After Kate sabotages Chad's relationship with Jordan, Chad asks Stefano to help him utterly ruin Kate.

General Hospital

Nikolas suffers intense guilt about what he knows. Spencer makes a theatrical entrance for his birthday party and has a special moment with Emma. However, danger lurks and the unthinkable befalls Spencer. After facing disappointment, Jake experiences a murky dream. Meanwhile, Ric confronts Elizabeth about her true feelings for Jake. Duke offers Julian a truce, while Alexis considers Ned's claim. A profession of love sends Maxie spinning. Silas keeps a secret under wraps, while Michael sets his plan in motion. After Nina receives some promising news, she and Franco each make a confession to the other.

The Young and the Restless

The horrific fallout of the plane crash leaves Neil reeling as he contemplates his future upon the discovery of Hilary's affair with Devon. The victims of the crash huddle together as the cold weather sets in, and they pray for a timely rescue. The Valentine's Day party at The Underground ends in catastrophe as several people find themselves trapped beneath rubble. Meanwhile, the battle for Jack's heart intensifies as Phyllis rips into Kelly for not backing down once Phyllis awoke from her coma. Adam, posing as Gabriel, confesses to Chelsea that he's only staying with Sage for the inheritance. Lauren snaps at Michael for missing a radiation appointment, but they quickly make peace. Kyle Abbott makes his return to Genoa City.

Glee, on Fox

The glee club is on the brink of its first public performance when a high-strung, demanding tween asks that New Directions perform at his bar mitzvah in this new episode. Also, Spencer (Marshall Williams) urges Roderick (Noah Guthrie) to lose weight.

Q: Is "Mob City" coming back? I really enjoyed that show.

Sadly, you can insert your favorite crime-movie cliche here -- "TNT whacks 'Mob City,'" "TNT puts 'Mob City' on ice," "'Mob City' sleeps with the fishes," etc. The point is, TNT canceled it.

The network had high hopes for the series. It was created by Frank Darabont, the hotshot Hollywood filmmaker who wrote and directed 1994's "The Shawshank Redemption" and 1999's "The Green Mile," among many others.

How to Get Away With Murder, on ABC

Academy Award nominee Viola Davis stars as brilliant, charismatic law professor Annalise Keating, who invites an elite team of law students to work for her. The brand new episode of the legal drama leads into the season 1 finale.
