The end of the first-season finale sees Noah arrested for Scotty's murder. Scotty, for those who don't know but are willing to read it in a column instead of seeing it on TV, is the father of Noah's grandchild.

New Releases for the week of Feb. 15-21

Birdman

Decades after playing the superhero "Birdman" in a series of blockbuster movies, Riggan Thompson (Keaton) is a washed-up shadow of his former self and is even hearing voices of the Birdman. Desperate to revive and reinvent his stagnant career, he concocts a plan to write, direct and star in a Broadway adaptation of a Raymond Carver short story. After recruiting his best friend to produce and his girlfriend to star in the production, at first it appears that his plan may succeed. However, his own insecurities, personal issues and mental instability soon become an issue on stage, and even lead to murder.

Director: Alejandro G. Iñárritu. Stars: Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Zach Galifianakis, Naomi Watts, Edward Norton. 2014. 119 min. Comedy.

 

The Theory of Everything

Perhaps the most famous and acclaimed physicist in the world, this is the story of how Stephen Hawking came by that distinction -- and of the woman who fell in love with him and stood by his side during some of the most difficult moments of their young lives. When Hawking (Redmayne), a promising young astrophysics student, meets Jane (Jones), a beautiful literature student, at a party, sparks fly between them and the two are soon madly in love. However, even as his love life and career as a scientist begin to take off, a nightmarish medical diagnosis threatens to bring a premature end to everything he's ever wanted in life.

Dumb and Dumber To

Twenty years after the events of "Dumb and Dumber" (1995), idiotic buffoons and best friends Lloyd (Carrey) and Harry (Daniels) reunite and set out to find a compatible donor kidney for Harry. Together, they track down the daughter (Melvin) that Harry fathered decades earlier. Unfortunately for the pair, their sudden appearance in the middle of an ongoing family drama could have deadly consequences that even someone with more than half a brain wouldn't be able to survive.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Steffy has conditions for Liam if she is to join in the plan against Rick. Bill urges his son to take Steffy up on it. Later, Steffy visits the Forrester Creations office and voices her disapproval of the way Rick is running the company. When Ivy encourages Steffy to get in on Liam's plan to take over Forrester, Steffy bluntly reveals her not-so-hidden agenda. Ridge artistically and romantically helps Caroline move on from her marriage. Caroline overhears Donna talking to Pam about Brooke's plan to get Ridge back, and she confronts them, insisting that she and Ridge will persevere. They both respond by warning Caroline that Brooke and Ridge always find their way back to each other. Meanwhile, Brooke invites Ridge over for a discussion and quickly gets to work trying to lure him back in. Wyatt is forced to grovel before Rick and beg for his job back at Forrester. Insecure in her relationship, Quinn confronts Deacon about his possible feelings for Brooke. Brooke worries about where her future is going as she reminisces about all of the people from her past. Later, she and Deacon end up having a candid conversation over cocktails.

Days of Our Lives

Eve is crushed by an announcement Paige makes. Later, Paige confronts the woman she believes JJ slept with after Cole divulges some information to her. Jennifer and Abigail have some questions for JJ when they realize that he didn't spend the night at home. Meanwhile, Hope wonders if she can trust Aiden when she discovers some surprising information regarding his dead wife. Hope's suspicions grow as she continues to investigate, while Aiden figures out just what Hope knows. After a confrontation with Adrienne, Paul promises her that he will leave Salem. Serena plans to switch the elephant statues, but she's thwarted when Nicole interrupts her. Melanie asks Theresa about Dr. Mandrake and continues her investigation of him. Kate questions Lucas when she notices how close her son has become to Adrienne. Victor is appalled when he learns his actions may have lead to what happened to Sonny. Chad lets Jordan know that he wants her back.

General Hospital

Helena makes an offer to Tracy. After things start to smooth out between her and Ned, Olivia bumps into an old friend. Carly is still upset by Sonny's actions. Elizabeth confronts Jake, wanting to know the truth, and later becomes enraged when she learns what Ric's true motivations are. Lulu turns to Nikolas for help as she begins to have serious doubts about Luke. After Maxie struggles with a decision to help someone, she finds herself at odds with Nathan. Meanwhile, Alexis and Julian manage to share a bonding moment. Kiki grows increasingly concerned for baby Avery, while Sam and Patrick's Valentine's Day date gets delayed.

The Young and the Restless

Lily pressures Cane to reveal what he's been hiding from her. Though Billy is frustrated that Gabriel has moved in across the hall, he and Chelsea invite Gabriel and Sage over for dinner. Jack has a confrontation with Kelly, while Phyllis begins to question who in her life she can really trust. Ashley issues a serious warning to Victor to stop playing his games. Dylan turns to Sharon and confides in her, while Avery makes a shocking confession of her own to Joe. Meanwhile, Noah tries to convince Nick to give Sharon a break. Paul is concerned that Christine is working far too hard. Nikki is met with an unexpected house guest at the ranch.
