Late Laughs for the week of November 27 - December 3, 2016

The Late Late Show With James Corden

Last night, on a plane from Boston to L.A., a dad passed out candy to passengers so that his 3-year-old daughter who was on the plane with him could go trick-or-treating. That's sweet because you weren't on the plane. You forget that after that, they all enjoyed a five-hour flight with a wired 3 year old running around on a sugar high. I think he may be setting her up for a life of disappointment, because getting on a flight and everyone loving you and giving you whatever you want? That's the opposite of flying.

The Killing Season, on DA&E

Josh and Rachel travel to Florida to investigate the Daytona Beach Serial Killer in this new episode. What they discover appears to extend much farther across the U.S. than they ever imagined. Later, they investigate murders along American highways.

Q: How does Christian Bale appear so skinny in "The Machinist"? Is it computer graphics like when they made Chris Evans look so small in "Captain America"?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

No CGI there: Bale did it all through an almost terrifying dedication to the craft. He dropped 63 pounds to take the part of an insomniac machine worker who is slowly losing his mind in 2004's "The Machinist."

Kelly Overton stars as Vanessa Helsing, the descendent of a famed vampire hunter, in this new episode. Based on the graphic novel “Helsing,” the series follows Vanessa as she leads a group of survivors in a post-apocalyptic future in which vampires have taken over the Earth.

Q: When oh when will we ever get our "Doc Martin" fix on PBS again?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

It's hard to say, thanks to the Brits' taste for anarchy. Generally, you can count on an American show to premiere about a year after the last time it premiered. The Brits, however, seem to air things any time they like.

The show's British broadcaster, ITV, reportedly held a swanky dinner for the show's cast after season 7 wrapped, at which they announced the season 8 renewal.

New Girl, on Fox

Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and her pals are determined to make this year's Thanksgiving a huge success, but things don't go as planned in this new episode. Peter Gallagher guest stars as Schmidt's (Max Greenfield) dad, who shows up heartbroken.
