Q: Has Edward Norton ever won an Oscar? Maybe he is heading for the same unrecognized fate that Leo DiCaprio was stuck in for so long.

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

You're right, Edward Norton has never won an Oscar, but more surprising, perhaps, is the fact that he hasn't been nominated for that many.

When Leonardo DiCaprio finally got his statue, for 2015's "The Revenant," it was his sixth nomination, with the first a little over two decades ago, for 1993's "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?"

Norton has only been nominated three times, his first coming almost as early, for 1996's "Primal Fear."

Ladies of London, on Bravo

Sophie Stanbury, Caroline's soon-to-be-ex sister-in-law, joins the ladies in this season premiere. Meanwhile, Julie Montagu and her husband officially take over the family estate, and Caroline Fleming travels to Denmark to tend to her ill father.

Q: Why was "JAG" with David James Elliott canceled and replaced with "NCIS," which has similar storylines? Was there a problem with Elliott? We haven't seen him in anything for a long time.

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

There are two explanations for why CBS canceled "JAG" back in 2005: A nice one, and an angry one (which may or may not make it more believable).

Late Laughs for the week of November 27 - December 3, 2016

The Late Late Show With James Corden

Last night, on a plane from Boston to L.A., a dad passed out candy to passengers so that his 3-year-old daughter who was on the plane with him could go trick-or-treating. That's sweet because you weren't on the plane. You forget that after that, they all enjoyed a five-hour flight with a wired 3 year old running around on a sugar high. I think he may be setting her up for a life of disappointment, because getting on a flight and everyone loving you and giving you whatever you want? That's the opposite of flying.

Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie

With her public relations agency failing, Edina (Saunders) is desperate for a big break. When she spots supermodel Kate Moss, who she's heard is looking for a new PR agency, at a fashion event, she rushes to introduce herself, but instead clumsily bumps into her, knocking the model off a balcony and into the Thames river. With the model presumed dead and Edina accused of killing her, the latter escapes the media firestorm by fleeing to the south of France with her best friend, Patsy (Lumley). For the pair of self-indulgent ladies, though, lying low is just not in their nature.

Director: Mandie Fletcher. Stars: Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley, Julia Sawalha, Christopher Ryan, Kate Moss. 2016. 91 min. Comedy.

Don't Breathe

Three petty crooks make a living robbing houses that have been secured by Alex's (Minnette) father's security company, but, to their frustration, they barely make enough money to scrape by. When one of them receives a tip about a blind veteran (Lang) who keeps $300,000 in his house, they decide to rob him and split the money between them. Unfortunately for them, what should be a simple burglary turns into a night of terror when they discover that, despite being blind, their target is no easy victim.

Director: Fede Alvarez. Stars: Stephen Lang, Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, Daniel Zovatto, Emma Bercovici. 2016. 88 min. Horror.

Pete's Dragon

After a horrific car accident kills his family, a young boy named Pete (Fegley) becomes lost in the forest, where he is pursued by a pack of hungry wolves. Luckily, he's rescued by a furry green dragon whom he names Elliot, and for the next few years, the creature raises and looks after him. When a group of lumberjacks penetrates deep into Pete's forest home, the boy is injured and taken to a local hospital. Meanwhile, back in the forest, Elliot becomes enraged that his friend has been taken from him.

Director: David Lowery. Stars: Bryce Dallas Howard, Oakes Fegley, Robert Redford, Oona Laurence. 2016. 103 min. Adventure.
