Fan-favorite actor Muse Watson, who played Mike Franks in fan-favorite series "NCIS" for nine years, has been keeping a low profile since leaving the show in 2015. He's done a couple of indie films since then, but hasn't returned to TV. But that's about to change -- depending on your definition of TV.
Tough-faced, squinty-eyed Watson has a new chance to squint and look tough in the premiere episode of the upcoming serial-killer procedural series "Mindhunter," which debuts on Netflix in October.
Being a Netflix series, it's not really "television," since it's only available online. This is a problem for some, who either don't want to watch things on a tiny computer screen or don't want to figure out how to connect their televisions to the Internet.
But for everyone else, "Mindhunter" has a lot to offer, and not just the chance to see Watson again. It's getting a lot of attention due to the fact it's produced, and partially directed, by David Fincher. Not only is Fincher an established, Oscar-nominated Hollywood filmmaker, but he was the man behind two of the best-loved serial-killer films of recent years: "Zodiac" (2007) and "SE7EN" (1995).
"Mindhunter" also represents a continuation of Fincher's relationship with Netflix -- he produces the streaming service's breakout hit series "House of Cards."
If Netflix isn't your thing, though, you can still catch up with Watson on film. He appears in the contemporary western thriller "Valley of Bones," which was recently completed and is now looking for a distributor (such is the challenge of doing indie films). He's currently working on the historical drama "Jubilee," and has three more coming down the pipe.
