Laying low, mostly.

The former "MacGyver" star's most recent screen appearance was a small turn as himself in an episode of the sitcom "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" in May 2013. His most recent starring gig was as Maj. Gen. Jack O'Neill on "Stargate SG-1," which wrapped its 10-year run back in 2007.

There was talk, briefly, about a "MacGyver" movie, in which he may or may not have been involved, but the talk never turned into action. The rumors seem to have come out of a pitch by Australian film director James Wan, but Wan got sidetracked by other, more dependably profitable, ventures -- namely, directing the upcoming "Fast & Furious 7."

"I was such a big fan of MacGyver growing up, as a kid, and I think I had a really cool take on it, but then 'The Fast & the Furious' came along," Wan told "Empire" magazine last year.

Most of Anderson's appearances these days are at fan conventions, where he's still in great demand. However, he admits that he's become somewhat of a recluse in recent years.

Referring to his appearances on the convention circuit, he told the "New Zealand Herald" that, "Initially they were a little scary for me just because I don't go out a lot these days."

There have been other hints about his reclusiveness. In a note posted on a fan-made website, rdanderson.com, he praises its creator, Kate Ritter. "She knows better than most people how much I cherish and protect my privacy."
