"Once Upon a Time" has been on mid-season hiatus since December, slated to return Sunday, March 5, but the show's creators, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, have been kind enough to offer some hints of what's to come.

For those who aren't familiar with it, the show draws on characters from the Disney cannon, putting them together in a single, sprawling story -- as such, its plot details will sound like utter nonsense to you. Just go with it.

The biggest additions to the first half of season 6 (which aired last fall) were Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz, "South Beach"), Jasmine (Karen David, "Galavant") and Jafar (Oded Fehr, "Covert Affairs") -- from, of course, the 1992 animated classic "Aladdin" -- and, though they seemed to exit the show in the mid-season finale in December, Horowitz told Entertainment Weekly that they would be returning for the second half.

In that mid-season finale, it was revealed that one of the major villains in the second half is Gideon (Giles Matthey, "True Blood"), the son of Rumple (Robert Carlyle, "Trainspotting," 1996) and Belle (Emilie de Ravin, "Lost"), who is apparently fated to kill Emma (Jennifer Morrison, "House").

ABC released a 30-second promo for the upcoming semi-season, which revealed quite a bit. For example, it tells us that August Booth (Eion Bauley, "Ray Donovan"), better known as Pinocchio, will return. It also flashes a close-up shot of a huge engagement ring, suggesting an upcoming wedding. PopSugar.com's Kelsie Gibson speculates it will be between Emma and Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue, "The Clinic").

The most important potential development is the one we don't know about: Will this be the end of the show? It hasn't yet been renewed for a seventh season, and ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said at a recent news conference that she'll be meeting with the creators to discuss a "potential" season 7.

Either way, she said that the rest of season 6 will offer "a little bit of closure in this particular narrative," so expect even more big developments in the next few months.
