Starring in the surprise-hit sci-fi series "Under the Dome" was a big moment in Montreal-born actress Rachelle Lefevre's career, but it actually wasn't the biggest. That honor goes to landing the role of the evil vampire Victoria in the smash-hit Twilight films. Well, some of them, at least.

The film's production company, Summit Entertainment, caused a great deal of controversy in 2009 when it booted Lefevre out of the role for the third installment in the film series. She had played Victoria in "Twilight" (2008) and "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" (2009) but was replaced by the better-known actress Bryce Dallas Howard for "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" (2010).

The studio said it was due to a scheduling conflict (Lefevre was working on another film, 2010's "Barney's Version," when filming for "Eclipse" was to begin), but Lefevre disputed that, saying the studio simply wanted a different actress for the part.

Despite her involvement in those high-profile films, Lefevre is primarily a TV actress. Besides "Under the Dome," she had leading roles in a couple of short-lived medical dramas: "Off the Map" in 2011 and "A Gifted Man" in 2011-12. Indeed, she seems to be making a niche for herself in the medical-show sector -- her most recent gig was a six-episode arc in the quirky Lifetime medical drama "Mary Kills People."

She's moving to a different genre for her next big thing, though. She has the lead role in the legal drama "Proven Innocent," set to debut mid-season on Fox. But while she's definitely the star, she's not the biggest name -- she'll be sharing the screen with TV legend Kelsey Grammer.
