Patsy from "Absolutely Fabulous," or Joanna Lumley to her friends in the real world, was indeed one of those prime examples of British glamor: a Bond Girl.

'Bond Girl' is of course a kind of fan-slang term for the women wooed by fictional British superspy James Bond in any of his 22 films.

She appeared as a love interest (as were most of the women in the films) in the 1969 film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," the only one featuring George Lazenby as Bond.

It was her first credited role, and though it was a small one, it's one she still thinks about.

"Even though it was 45 years ago, even though I really only had two lines in the film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service,' I am as proud of being a Bond Girl as of anything else in my career," she said in a news release last year.

Indeed, the release was promoting a night of Bond music played by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, which she hosted.

"As the evening progresses, I shall of course be auditioning, fairly subtly, for a future role in another of these sensational films: and it need only be two lines."

Not that she has to do too much auditioning for work these days. She's had an enviable career on film and TV, mostly in Britain, particularly thanks to her role as the boozing best friend in the beloved and long-running sitcom "Absolutely Fabulous," which has been on and off the air since 1992 (it recently returned for three episodes in early 2012 after a six-year hiatus).
