Q&A

Q: I think I spotted two members of the "Glee" cast in the video for Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night." Were there more guest stars in there?

When it came out in 2011, the video for "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" entered the great pantheon of celebrity-laden music videos, but it did so with a bang.

Not content with just one or two hey-that-guy/girl moments, the clip promoting Perry's hit summer anthem had seven notable appearances.

You have a real Gleek's eye -- "Glee" stars Kevin McHale and Darren Criss popped up in the video among the large gang of party-goers (McHale as the notably "geeky" one, Criss as the notably "cool" one).

In 2011, that would have been plenty of star power, but there was also fellow teen pop star Rebecca Black (whose own hit song, "Friday," will forever be confused with this one), and then there's Kenny G, performing at the video's fictional house party with faded pop group Hanson. That's a clever bit of audience coverage. (If you don't know who Black is, you likely know smooth jazz great Kenny G, and vice-versa.)

But the biggest (or at least the most fun) cameos come in the video's final scene, when Perry's parents, played by '80s legends Corey Feldman and Debbie Gibson, show up the morning after the party.

Their presence is significant because the whole thing is actually a big homage to '80s party movies, with Perry's character getting the classic geek-to-chic makeover and learning a lesson about the value of cutting loose.
