After starting in print journalism then moving to TV journalism, Piers Morgan has decided to give online journalism a try. His new gig is as "Editor-At-Large (US)" for "MailOnline," the web portal of the British "Daily Mail" newspaper.

Reports differ as to why he left his nightly talk show hosting job on CNN early last year, but most agree that the show's persistent low ratings had a lot to do with it.

Morgan made his own case in a column published in "The Hollywood Reporter" in October, saying that he joined the network to host an interview program (much like "Larry King Live," whose time-slot he was stepping into), while CNN President Jeff Zucker wanted a news program.

Being himself, Morgan was also willing to lash out against a fellow star, suggesting that his show's poor ratings were in part due to a weak lead-in from Anderson Cooper, whom he called "stiff." (CNN rebutted, arguing that Cooper's ratings were always better than Morgan's.)

While being an online "Editor-At-Large" is still his main gig, Morgan still dabbles in television. He recently served as the official royal correspondent for the syndicated entertainment show "Extra" during a recent royal visit to New York.

He also just returned to "Celebrity Apprentice," where he was once a contestant and now serves as an adviser in the new season.
