You're asking for a pretty long list.
Though his "CSI: Miami" gig is certainly the role that made him a star, he'd been around the TV block a few times even at the time of that show's debut in 2002.
However, his first couple of roles were in the same vein.
Indeed, his first screen role came in 1997, a bit part in "NYPD Blue," a show that many credit with giving birth to the modern police-procedural craze that gave us "CSI: Miami."
One thing everyone credits "NYPD Blue" for, though, is giving us David Caruso. Years before he donned the sunglasses and became Horatio Caine, he starred in the first season of "NYPD Blue," though he'd left the series before Rodriguez popped in.
Rodriguez's next role was also on a cop show, but this time it was a full-time job. He starred in the short-lived police drama "Brooklyn South" in its lone season from 1997 to 1998.
He bounced around in a few brief arcs and guest spots until 2001, when he landed another full-time gig in the third season of the teen hit "Roswell." He walked off that set and onto the set of "CSI: Miami."
But that's certainly not the end of it. More than most of his co-stars, Rodriguez has busily moonlighted in other shows and quite a few films.
The biggest news on that front, though, is the one he hasn't been seen in yet. It was announced just a few weeks ago that he'll have a role in the most anticipated film of the year: the new Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises."
Prior to that, his biggest film role had been in the 2009 Tyler Perry hit "I Can Do Bad All By Myself." Rodriguez also popped up in an 11-episode arc on the hit ABC sitcom "Ugly Betty."
