I guess that depends which boy you mean.

The show aired for four years, from 1997 to 2001, originally on the Global network in Canada, but later in syndication in the U.S. and elsewhere.

In its first season, the show featured Elisha Cuthbert and Jay Baruchel as the hosts.

Cuthbert, as you point out, has found fame on TV's "24" and in such films as 2005's "House of Wax" (giving her the dubious honor of starring opposite Paris Hilton) and the 2004 comedy "Girl Next Door."

Baruchel has done pretty well for himself as well though. A small spot in the hit 2000 film "Almost Famous" led him straight to the lead role in a Fox series called "Undeclared." Though the show itself didn't do great numbers and was yanked partway through its first season, it was notable for its producer: Judd Apatow.

Apatow has since proven to be a good guy to know. He's become big-screen comedy's it-boy, and has been known to cast his former TV collaborators in his films. And so, five years after that TV series left the air Baruchel found himself starring opposite his fellow "Undeclared" buddy Seth Rogen in the award-winning 2007 box-office smash "Knocked Up."

He's apparently been well-liked by his other bosses as well, appearing in two of Ben Stiller's box-office hits and getting a dreamed-of mention in Clint Eastwood's Oscar-acceptance speech after he worked on the director's "Million Dollar Baby."

So with the dream of all that fame in his head, Baruchel left "Popular Mechanics for Kids" after its first season. Stepping into his shoes was another young Canadian actor named Tyler Kyte.

Kyte went on to a significant amount less, unfortunately. He most notably did a run of melodramatic telefilms, such as 2003's "The Elizabeth Smart Story," where he played the brother of kidnapping victim Elizabeth Smart, and the 2004 film "Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story."

Both came before he landed a lead role in the Canadian teen drama "Instant Star," playing Vincent Spiederman from 2005 until 2008.

All three though, Cuthbert, Baruchel and Kyte, also worked together on another Canadian series, the teen mystery series "Are You Afraid of the Dark."

Cuthbert had a leading role on the series for the 1999-2000 season, at the same time she was doing "Popular Mechanics for Kids." Perhaps thanks to their association on "PMK," Baruchel and Kyte both did guest spots on the same season of "Are You Afraid of the Dark."
