The innate talent that made Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen into stars before they could even speak has not shunned either of their siblings, as both elder brother Trent and younger sister Elizabeth are in the screen business as well.

However, while it might have been easier to follow in the footsteps of their famous sisters, who grew up on screen on the hit sitcom "Full House" and leveraged that fame into a kid-entertainment empire, Elizabeth and Trent chose very different paths to grown-up careers.

Elizabeth has made a name for herself with a series of challenging indie pictures, while Trent has opted not to make a name for himself at all, working instead behind the scenes for a horror film production company (both about as far away from "Full House" as you can imagine).

Forgoing her sisters' sugar-sweet, child-star esthetic, Elizabeth's first real role was a big one, as the title character in the difficult but very successful indie drama "Martha Marcy May Marlene" (2011).

It was "difficult" in two senses -- it was a difficult watch as it dramatized the damage inflicted on a child raised in a cult, but it was also a difficult performance. But Elizabeth rose to the challenge.

Roger Ebert called her "a genuine discovery here: Childlike and yet deep, vulnerable but with a developing will, beautiful in a natural and unforced way."

A series of other tough, not-very-Olsen-like roles followed, though her newest gig has proved to be her most kid-friendly: She will appear as Scarlet Witch in the highly anticipated "Avengers: Age of Ultron" this coming summer.

Older brother Trent works for the horror film production company Storm King Productions, which is currently working on an adaption of the comic series "Darkchylde" with legendary horror-helmer John Carpenter.

Let it not be said that the two were unwilling to play along with their sisters, though. Both Trent and Elizabeth did cameo roles in their sisters' films. Trent appeared in "The Case of the Mystery Cruise" and "You're Invited to Mary-Kate & Ashley's Sleepover Party" (both released in 1995), while Elizabeth did a nameless turn in 1994's "How the West Was Fun."
