It will, but in keeping with the small-town life depicted in the series, we've got to be patient.

Season 2 of "Cedar Cove," the Hallmark Channel series based on the popular book series by romance writer Debbie Macomber, will premiere on July 20.

That may seem like a while, but it's actually a year to the day after the first season premiered. The first season had 13 episodes (the last one airing in October), but the network hasn't announced how many will be in season 2.

"Cedar Cove" stars former model and heartthrob (actually, current model and heartthrob, though she's best remembered for her '80s work) Andie MacDowell as Olivia Lockhart, a judge in the municipal court of the small town of Cedar Cove, Wash.

"Like everyone else, Olivia fights the uphill battle of balancing career with family and finding love, all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home," according to the network's marketing material.

However, not like everyone else, Olivia's life is written by a hugely popular romance novelist, so it's a little more dramatic than everyone else's. Indeed, the books have such cachet that Hallmark markets the series under the title "Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove."

And fair enough: Macomber is a bestselling author with more than 100 novels to her name, eight of which hit the No. 1 spot on the definitive "New York Times" list. Her official bio says that her books have spent more than 750 total weeks on the list.
