Knock this: Obstacle courses are definitely tricky, but sometimes the biggest obstacle of all is the other competitors. CBS's new summer series "TKO: Total Knock Out" may look like a typically entertaining obstacle course at first glance, but a closer look reveals the ultimate wild card.

Abby is upset when she learns that Arturo can't spend the day with her. Phyllis and Billy find themselves trapped in an elevator at Jabot when the construction crew cuts the power. They make the best of the situation by deciding to celebrate Billy's birthday. They are eventually freed from the elevator in time to witness the fireworks from the roof deck of the GCAC. Hilary's planned interviewee cancels, leaving her to fill airtime with other interviews on the roof deck. Tessa fills in the last few minutes of the show with a song.

A young man named Charley (Plummer), who lives with his estranged father (Fimmel), gets a summer job caring for the horses of an esteemed horse trainer (Buscemi) and forms a bond with the racehorse Lean on Pete. When he learns that Lean on Pete's racing days are nearly finished and that the animal will be put down once it's retired, Charley desperately tries to convince the trainer to spare the animal. When his pleas for mercy go unheard, he takes the horse and goes on the run across the country, leaving his old life behind and searching for a new home for himself and the very special horse.
