Q: Is "The Following" coming back for a second season?

Though the first-season finale didn't seem to leave a lot of room for the plot to continue, the kind of ratings "The Following" put up were hard for Fox's executives to ignore.

Though (spoiler alert) this will come as a surprise to those who saw the finale, the show will return for another season, and (bigger spoiler alert) actor James Purefoy, who played the show's chief villain who supposedly died in the season finale, is returning as well.

Q: Now that "Burn Notice" is over, what are its stars up to?

Not a lot yet, surprisingly, though it's only been a couple of weeks. The USA Network spy drama aired its grand finale on Sept. 12.

That said, the stars had a fair bit of notice to start looking for work -- the network announced in May that the show's seventh season would be its last.

Q: I've been catching up on old episodes of "Last of the Summer Wine," and it seems like there are a lot of them. How long did the show stay on the air?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

You've set yourself quite a task there. "Last of the Summer Wine" was an institution on BBC television for decades.

It remains, in terms of the number of seasons, and years on the air, the longest-running sitcom of all time (not, however, in terms of the number of episodes -- that title goes to "The Simpsons").

It aired 31 seasons, beginning way back in 1973, and only finally wrapping up in 2010. In total, this counted for 295 episodes, so you have a lot of TV ahead of you.

Mom, on CBS

Alison Janney and Anna Faris face off as a mother and daughter struggling to repair their broken relationship in this new episode. The comedy follows the life of a quirky single mom Christy (Faris).

The Tonight Show: Jay Leno

This week marks the fifth anniversary of the collapse of Lehman Brothers, which sparked the recession. Think about how bad things were back then. We had unemployment over seven per cent. The debt was out of control. There were wars breaking out all over the globe. Thank God that's all behind us now, huh?

Get 'Bitten': Ask someone what comes to mind when they think about werewolves, and they'll conjure up images of oily fur, moon-lit transformations, razor sharp teeth and maybe a Twilight-inspired, muscled young man. What doesn't typically come up is a beautiful young woman who just wants to settle down and live a quiet life in Toronto.
