Q: My grandma was watching Hallmark recently and she's wondering about the name of a certain show and if it will come back on. It was about a school teacher and a Canadian policeman, and it was set in the 19th century.

The show your grandma was watching was "When Calls the Heart," an original period drama that's done pretty well for the Hallmark Channel.

The series has been a huge hit for the network on Saturday nights, a tough night for any show. Its success is all the more significant for Hallmark, as it's just the second scripted series the network has produced.

As such, the network has of course locked it down for another season, which it announced back in May.

Cristela, on ABC

Q: Are they still making episodes of "Cities of the Underworld"?

No, but host Don Wildman is still sticking his nose into places most people don't get to see -- it's sort of become his thing.

It started for him on the Travel Channel series "Weird Travels," on which he served as a narrator and host. In 2007, a year after "Weird Travels" ended, he launched "Cities of the Underworld," the History documentary series that saw him delve into the tunnels, caverns and occasionally entire other cities that lie beneath the places we think we know.

Arrow, on CW

Alex Kingston guest stars as Laurel’s (Katie Cassidy) mother, Dinah, in this new holiday-themed episode. Laurel’s father (Paul Blackthorne) surprises his daughter with a very special Christmas gift – her mother. Stephen Amell also stars.

Q: My sister and I enjoy the new TV series "The Transporter," starring Chris Vance. Could you let us know what other roles he's played, and where he is from?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

London-born Chris Vance has been kicking around American television for a few years now, and though he rejects the title "action hero," his best-known roles have involved enough explosions to make it unavoidable.

With typical British modesty, he told "Collider" magazine that, "I don't consider myself an action hero at all. My domestic life is the same as anyone else's ... If you take yourself too seriously, you're dead in the water."
