New Releases for the week of May 24 - 30

Cut Bank

Dwayne (Hemsworth) and his girlfriend Cassandra (Palmer) live in Cut Bank, Montana, the so-called "coldest spot in the nation." Life is dull and Dwayne would love nothing more than to be able to leave his hometown and his dreary life there for good, so when he witnesses a grisly crime, he tries to leverage it into a get-rich-quick scheme that will be his ticket out. Things begin to spiral out of control, though, when his accomplice gets unruly and fate seemingly conspires against him. Soon enough, the crafty local sheriff's (Malkovich) investigation starts getting a bit too close for Dwayne's comfort.

Director: Matt Shakman. Stars: Liam Hemsworth, Teresa Palmer, John Malkovich, Billy Bob Thornton. 2014. 93 min. Thriller.

As night falls over the woods, they awaken the demonic presence that dwells there, and the unseen evil ushers in a night of abject terror and nightmares. With their deepest fears being seized upon by the forest's evil resident, it seems all but certain that Covington forest will claim five more youthful lives before the night is through.

Q: The last episode of season 5 of "Justified" ended with a female singer doing a song that was done again by a male singer at the end of season 6. Who was the singer, and is the song available on CD?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

The version of "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive" that ended season 5 was by the Ruby Friedman Orchestra. The good news is it is available on their album "Songs of the Demimonde." The bad news is that the album's not available on CD.

So far, the album -- technically more of an EP, since its seven songs clock in at only 28 minutes in total -- is only available digitally, on iTunes, Spotify and elsewhere.

Q: When is "Project Runway" coming back, with Tim Gunn?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Lifetime hasn't announced an official return date yet, but it's definitely coming.

If you were a gambler, the smart money would be on July. Though it has jumped around Lifetime's schedule a bit, seven of the show's 13 seasons so far have premiered in July, including the previous two (note that this only includes the original "Project Runway," not "Project Runway All Stars," which is generally a fall show). Indeed, there hasn't been a summer without "Project Runway" since 2007.

The Voice, on NBC

The finalists take the stage one last time in this special two-hour season finale. This season’s celebrity mentors Christina Aguilera, Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have guided the vocalists through the competition for a lucrative recording contract.
