Q: I was watching an old black-and-white western and noticed a startling resemblance between star James McCallion and Sheldon on "The Big Bang Theory." Their smiles and eyes are very similar. Are they related?

There's certainly a resemblance between the two actors, but it's not genetic. Perhaps it can be chalked up to charm and Hollywood's tastes, instead.

Western-movie character actor James McCallion and "The Big Bang Theory's" Jim Parsons have similarly friendly eyes, upturned eyebrows and slightly crooked smiles -- engaging sorts of faces that, though not conventionally handsome, are still more likely to end up on film than the average mug.

New Releases for the week of June 28 - July 4

Danny Collins

Danny Collins (Pacino) is an aging 1970s-era rocker who's set in his ways. His fans are as old as he is, his beautiful young wife is faithless and he relies on drugs to get him through his shows. When his manager (Plummer) uncovers a letter that John Lennon wrote to Danny more than 40 years ago, he takes its advice to heart and becomes determined to change his life's trajectory. He gives up the drugs, leaves his wife to her younger lover and crosses the country to connect with his adult son Tom (Cannavale), whom he's never met and is the result of a brief fling decades prior. While Tom wants nothing to do with his father, Danny begins to connect with his daughter-in-law (Garner) and granddaughter.

With the Froglympics coming soon to the Frog Kingdom, the Frog King (David) announces that the winner of the competition will win his daughter's hand in marriage. Rather than accept this fate, Princess Froglegs (Thorne) disguises herself as a commoner and runs away. She meets Freddie (Dallas), a street vendor, who agrees to help her train for the Froglympics so that she herself can win and ruin her father's plan. Behind the scenes, however, a villainous serpent has his own plan to ruin the Froglympics and perhaps to even overthrow the king and take power for himself.

When she finds a copy of the American film "Fargo" on an old VHS tape, she convinces herself that the depiction in the film of a man burying a suitcase full of money in the snowy midwest is actually a treasure map. Armed only with her wits and a handmade treasure map, Kumiko sets out on an incredible journey across the Pacific to find the supposed fortune.

Barbecue is serious business. That's no exaggeration: it really is. And it's not exactly small potatoes, either. Barbecue is taken seriously across the continent, and nowhere more so than in the south.

Q: I really loved the first season of the "Fargo" TV series. When's it coming back?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Though season 1 aired last spring, running from April to June on FX, the new season won't premiere until the fall. When it comes back, it's going to look a little different as well.

As is popular nowadays on cable (see also hits such as "True Detective" and "American Horror Story"), the show's second season will tell a completely different story with completely different characters.
