Q: Are reruns of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader" being run on any channel?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Not at the moment, but you can never say never with a show that's already been canceled twice.

Fox's on-again-off-again game show "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader" aired on the network from 2007 to 2009, then in syndication from 2009 to 2011. Later in 2011, the Game Show Network bought the rights to air the reruns, which it did until 2013 (having aired it daily, it presumably ran out of episodes).

Disney is famous for its weird video-releasing approach, characterized by the Disney Vault. Movies are available on video for a while, then they're pulled from shelves to let demand build again. In this way, a single film can have multiple releases.

Q: Why is "The Vampire Diaries" not being renewed after season 8?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

To hear the creators tell it, it was their idea to end the show. But of course they would say that -- just like in a breakup, you never want people to think you were the one who got dumped.

Quick, it's time for a pop quiz: what sweet baking ingredient do you get if you combine carbon, hydrogen and oxygen in just the right way? If you answered "sugar," congratulations! You have a sweet mind and at least some knowledge of organic chemistry. If not ... well, who said that TV can't be educational?
