I can tell you that 1972's "Fat City" was based on a book, that it was one of Jeff Bridges' first major roles, and that he owes it to his big brother Beau.

Beau Bridges auditioned for the role of Ernie, a fresh young kid with a natural talent for boxing, but he said (in an interview on the podcast "WTF With Marc Maron") that he was told he was too old. And so he recommended his little brother Jeff in his stead.

After Teresa (Alice Braga) flees Europe, she tries to start over in Phoenix, Arizona, in this new episode. However, when she arrives, she must deal with a commission of cartel bosses as well as a corrupt local sheriff.

You might want to give up looking. The advent of the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel have produced a bit of a boon for old telefilms, but unfortunately, 1996's "The Care and Handling of Roses" wasn't a Hallmark movie. It was made for CBS, and no one's rushing to dig up its back catalog.

As is often the case, ABC had a lot of reasons for canceling "Designated Survivor," the political thriller starring Kiefer Sutherland, a man who knows his way around a political thriller.

As usual, however, it came down to ratings. After a solid first season, the show's ratings dropped significantly in its second year.
