Q: Is "Major Crimes" coming back to TV?
Fans will have to wait a while yet, but "Major Crimes" star Mary McDonnell promises a big payoff when it returns in the summer.

That is correct.
The new season, which premiered on Lifetime recently, features a very different cast.
Shields is the most notable addition, playing an Air Force colonel who doesn't get on well with series original Gen. Holden (played by Brian McNamara).
A network news release describes her character, Katherine Young, as "a crack C-17 pilot who can hold her own in the boys club atmosphere of the military."
