There are very few tried-and-true recipes for prime-time success, but high-stakes game shows have made a comeback in recent years. The thrill of watching an average Joe or Jane play for money and prizes has kept TV viewers on the edge of their seats for decades in daytime, but add a little star power and -- voila! -- a prime-time hit is born.

Having wrestled in the '90s under the names Kurrgan and The Interrogator, the seven-foot-tall actor hailing from the rural town of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, N.B., in Canada, played Dredger in 2009's "Sherlock Holmes."

Q: Christina Applegate has some very insightful comments as a judge on "So You Think You Can Dance" -- does she have a background in dancing?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

She does indeed, though she said recently that she's had to give it up.

The 41-year-old actress, best known as dim but beautiful Kelly Bundy on the classic Fox sitcom "Married ... With Children," is actually a Tony-nominated song-and-dance star.

She received the Tony nod for best actress for her turn in the musical "Sweet Charity" in 2005, though she had a rough time getting there.
