How will you celebrate the nation's birthday this year? Whether your Fourth of July plans include a picnic, a potluck or a stay-at-home cookout, your Independence Day menu doesn't necessarily require as much advanced planning as your Thanksgiving dinner -- this is peak summer, so why not enjoy it?

Over the years, Food Network chefs have traditionally come forward to share their favorite Fourth of July recipes. This year is no exception, and you'll find a few patriotic-minded episodes in Food Network's July 4 lineup -- from "Valerie's Home Cooking" to "The Pioneer Woman," plus some all-American-themed installments of "Guy's Grocery Games" and "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives."

And even if you've waited until the last minute, you may already have all the ingredients you need to prep the "showstopping, star-spangled spread" featured on "The Kitchen."

Jeff Mauro gets things started with a tip of the (chef's) hat to a Coney Island tradition: the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. The event has been held every year since 1916 and always on Independence Day, though last year's installment was reduced to a private, media-only affair due to the pandemic.

Back to Mauro and his Fourth of July treat: the "Sandwich King" himself will offer up a recipe for a Grilled Triple-Decker Hot Dog Sandwich. Picture this: three layers of hot dogs, salami and cheese, all sandwiched between two buttered (and grilled) halves of a hoagie roll, with some lettuce and tomatoes to alleviate the guilt of eating all that cheesy, comfort food goodness.

If that doesn't appeal to you, Sunny Anderson can show you how to make her all-American Cola-Glazed Short Ribs, while chef Jet Tila and his wife/cookbook co-author, Ali Tila, offer up their Bacon, Egg and Potato Salad as a crowd-pleasing side dish.

If you want to end your meal on a sweet note without turning on the oven, Jocelyn Delk Adams can walk you through the steps for prepping some No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecake Bars. The hosts will also share a few ideas for dips, drinks and DIY decor for the ultimate at-home patriotic bash.

These recipes are all available on FoodNetwork.com, so you could make these before "The Kitchen" airs on Sunday, July 4.

However you choose to celebrate America this year, make the most of this national holiday. Happy Fourth of July, everyone!
