Francis Garcia and Sal Basile in “Pizza Masters”

Oh man, if you want to sell pizza in New York City, you'd better have one heckuva good pie.

Luckily, cousins, best friends and business partners Sal Basille and Francis Garcia apparently make some of the best. In fact, it's so good that it's not only attracted some high-profile praise to their growing chain of pizzerias, but also their own show on the Cooking Channel.

"Pizza Masters" shines a spotlight on the two successful masters of the savory pie as they run the three NYC locations of Artichoke Basille's and travel around the country to scout out expansion locations, get inspiration for their next tasty creation or just try out what other self-professed pizza masters are making.

In the episode airing Tuesday, Dec. 30, the cousins are in Philadelphia looking for the perfect spot to open up a new Artichoke Basille's location. Of course, the best way to get "in the know" is to pay a visit to some local restaurant owners, and that's just what they'll be up to.

Business advice is all well and good, but what about the food? They'll be wrapping their taste buds around the food at Ralph's Restaurant, the oldest family-owned Italian restaurant in the country, then feasting on what may well be the best cannoli in the city.

It's this love of food -- and pizza in particular -- that's tied these two cousins together, and their closeness shines through every episode. The pair worked in the family's Staten Island restaurant from a young age before opening the first Artichoke Basille's location in Manhattan in 2008. The rest, as they say, is history.

Their three New York City locations have since drawn them praise from acclaimed chef David Chang and rock legend Keith Richards, and the duo has made appearances on "The Rachael Ray Show" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

That's some pretty high-profile stuff for a pair of cousins with a pizzeria. Even if you can't get to New York City to dig into one of their famous pizzas, at least their show is there as consolation. Catch a new episode of "Pizza Masters" airing Tuesday, Dec. 30, on the Cooking Channel.
