Music and food. They're a classic pairing, probably going all the way back to the beginning of time. The two of them don't just pair up well at dinner parties, either; they go hand-in-hand on the TV screen, too.

Fire up the ovens and turn the radio dial to the local country music station, y'all: "Trisha's Southern Kitchen" is back for another season Saturday mornings on the Food Network.

Trisha Yearwood sure has had her finger in a lot of pies. The beautiful Georgia native and Grand Ole Opry member had her first No. 1 single way back in 1991 ("She's in Love With the Boy," from her self-titled debut album), and since then has released 10 more albums, earning herself three Grammy Awards, two Academy of Country Music Awards and three Country Music Association Awards.

From 1998 to 2002, she dabbled in acting, playing a recurring character on the CBS hit show "JAG," and in 2008, she (along with her mother and sister) released her first cookbook, "Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen." It turns out that Yearwood is as talented in the kitchen as she is in the recording studio. She released a second cookbook in 2010 that, along with the first cookbook, gave her the distinction of being a best-selling author.

These days, Yearwood's home is on the Food Network on Saturday mornings. She invites us into the Nashville home she lives in with her husband, country star Garth Brooks, where she shares some of her amazing southern recipes with the rest of us.

This season, we'll be tagging along as our hostess shows off some iconic Southern hospitality. We'll get to watch as she puts together a party for one of her bandmates, plans an exciting family reunion and even just has a day hanging out in the kitchen with her girlfriends.

It really is a delight to watch someone so genuine cooking up amazing food in her own home, but fans of her music don't need to worry that she's changing careers. In an interview with the Food Network, Yearwood admitted she's definitely been focusing on cooking for the past few years as "Trisha's Southern Kitchen" took off, but that music is where her passion really lies. She says if she had to choose between cooking and music, music would win out hands down.

Whether you're a longtime Trisha Yearwood fan or just a fan of cooking shows, you really can't go wrong with "Trisha's Southern Kitchen," currently airing Saturday mornings on the Food Network.
