Mmm, junk food. There's something about it that is so comforting in its deliciousness, so much so that sometimes you just have to give in to a craving and gorge to your heart's content.

Of course, junk food isn't exactly known for being the healthiest of food groups out there, which is why it should be an indulgence and not a mealtime staple. Cooking Channel, however, is looking to make junk food healthy -- sort of -- in its own special way.

Bobby Deen and Nikki Dinki are teaming up to take on America in the new series "Junk Food Flip" -- premiering Tuesday, June 2, on Cooking Channel. They'll tour the country looking for the yummiest, most fattening local foods and give them a bit of a shakeup to make them healthier without sacrificing taste.

It's a tall task -- slimming down tasty treats but retaining all the flavor -- but Deen and Dinki have the skills and experience that should translate well into rejigged junk foods.

The second son of celebrity chef Paula Deen, Bobby is a celebrated cook in his own right. His Cooking Channel show "Not My Mama's Meals," in which he tweaks his mother's recipes to make them healthier, is a continuing success, and he's expanded his duties by taking up hosting gigs on the festive special "Holiday Baking Championship" and its warmer-weather counterpart "Spring Baking Championship."

Dinki, who says it was her secret dream to become Rachael Ray, was a finalist in season 9 of "Food Network Star" and got her start on YouTube with an at-home cooking show. Recently, she's started writing a new cookbook called "Meat On The Side," which features vegetable-focused recipes for everyday cooking and is due out in early 2016.

While junk food will always have a place in our hearts, Bobby Deen and Nikki Dinki are setting out to make junk food a little easier on our hearts. Catch the series premiere of "Junk Food Flip" when it airs Tuesday, June 2, on Cooking Channel.
