Stephanie's family and friends gather around her as she throws one giant party to celebrate the story of her life before the cancer takes her. Despite the tragic reason behind the party, the guests enjoy the Irish-themed event, complete with performances by Celtic Woman and Irish dancers. Nervous about the possibility of Ridge's attendance, Brooke gets escorted to the party by Bill and is blindsided when she learns of Stephanie's next move. After the party, Stephanie and Eric go on their final trip together to the Big Bear cabin where Stephanie comes to grips with her mortality. Meanwhile, Katie comes out of hiding wearing a disguise, but Taylor spots her. Sensing Taylor knows more than she's letting on, Brooke demands to know where Katie is. Thomas makes a pass at Caroline, while Liam asks Steffy to move back in with him.
Even with Nicole's lies exposed, Jennifer pays her a visit to give her condolences for her loss. Nicole tells Jennifer she's not sorry for what she did and that she'll always hate her. EJ finds Nicole to tell her he won't be seeking revenge because he could never rival the hell she's created for herself. Meanwhile, Marlena is miffed to find John and Kristen together at the Horton cabin and is certain Kristen was the reason they missed the ferry. Abigail confides in Gabi that she's still a virgin, while Chad tries to mess up Nick's meeting with his parole officer. Nicole finds her old flame, Eric Brady, has returned to Salem and is now a priest.
Having dealt with the heartbreak of not being able to bear children, Lulu and Dante decide to go forward with surrogacy. Maxie's anger towards Spinelli reaches the breaking point and she struggles with whether or not to tell him how she really feels. An unexpected visitor bursts in on Sam and Michael, while Liz thinks up an idea on how to fund the Nurses' Ball. Carly feels the full force of Michael's wrath and soon after gets into it with Monica. Meanwhile, Connie tries to force Todd's hand as Sonny prepares for the fight of his life. Patrick finally seems ready to move on as he shares a special moment with Sabrina. Sam questions Anna, and an unexpected duo are brought into the station for assault.
Victor finds out that Victoria has been kidnapped as a result of Billy's gambling debt, so Victor takes charge. In the dark room, Victoria tries to pick the lock and escape her captors. Adam apologizes to Chelsea for all the secrets and assures her she's his only love, but he continues to deny involvement in the various fires around town. Meanwhile, Dr. Watkins stuns Sharon when he diagnoses her with bipolar disorder and tells her she'll need medication. John warns Jack that he needs to heal before going back to work, but Jack refuses to show his pain when Phyllis shows up to toast their future at Newman Enterprises. Ronan and Phyllis share an awkward first date while Nick tells Avery he's crazy about her. Jill is convinced she's found a way to get Katherine to step down and she shares her idea with Tucker.

ABC officially pulled the plug on the show, which featured film stars Ashley Judd and Sean Bean as husband-and-wife spies whose son is kidnapped (Bean appears mostly in flashbacks at first, as his character is supposed to be dead). The announcement came on May 11, a week before the airing of what was intended to be its first-season finale, but has now proved to be the series finale.

It would appear that this time it's for real. Paget Brewster, who played Special Agent Emily Prentiss on six seasons of the show (she joined in Season 2), announced in February that she was leaving to pursue "other opportunities."
That explanation, given to entertainment-news website Deadline.com, may sound cold, but it appears the departure was on fairly good terms.
"After six wonderful years playing Emily Prentiss, I have decided it's time for me to move on," she said.
