Perhaps it's the magic of Christmas, or at least the popularity of Christmas TV, but either way, the film you're talking about, a 33-year-old, made-for-TV movie, is available on DVD, VHS and Blu-Ray -- and the disc releases came out just last month.
Debuting on ABC on Dec. 16, 1979, "An American Christmas Carol" transplanted the Charles Dickens classic out of Industrial Revolution-era London and in to Depression-era New Hampshire.

The Expendables 2
Sylvester Stallone returns as Barney Ross, along with his band of highly trained, misfit mercenaries. This time around, Ross, Lee Christmas, Ying Yang, Hale Caesar, Toll Road and the very strong (and very unstable) Gunnar Jensen have recruited Billy the Kid, a young sniper who has become a part of their dysfunctional-but-loving family. After the team finds Ross’s old rival, Trench, in a bit of a jam in Nepal, Billy announces his imminent retirement, citing plans to settle down with his girlfriend Sophia. However, when CIA operative Mr. Church asks Ross to head to Albania to retrieve an important item, the crew has little choice but to accept. Once there, they find that Billy is being held captive by the smooth-talking, roundhouse-kicking leader of The Sangs, who are there to collect the same item as Ross’s team. It will take everything the Expendables have -- and then some -- to defeat the evil Sangs and get revenge for the damage they have done. It's an edge-of-your-seat adventure that's chock-full of familiar faces (and muscles).

Simon’s brother is facing conviction for armed robbery, which would mean a very long stretch behind bars. Stephanie's family and friends gather around her as she throws one giant party to celebrate the story of her life before the cancer takes her. Despite the tragic reason behind the party, the guests enjoy the Irish-themed event, complete with performances by Celtic Woman and Irish dancers. Nervous about the possibility of Ridge's attendance, Brooke gets escorted to the party by Bill and is blindsided when she learns of Stephanie's next move. After the party, Stephanie and Eric go on their final trip together to the Big Bear cabin where Stephanie comes to grips with her mortality. Meanwhile, Katie comes out of hiding wearing a disguise, but Taylor spots her. Sensing Taylor knows more than she's letting on, Brooke demands to know where Katie is. Abigail confides in Gabi that she's still a virgin, while Chad tries to mess up Nick's meeting with his parole officer. Nicole finds her old flame, Eric Brady, has returned to Salem and is now a priest.

Having dealt with the heartbreak of not being able to bear children, Lulu and Dante decide to go forward with surrogacy. Maxie's anger towards Spinelli reaches the breaking point and she struggles with whether or not to tell him how she really feels. Ronan and Phyllis share an awkward first date while Nick tells Avery he's crazy about her. Jill is convinced she's found a way to get Katherine to step down and she shares her idea with Tucker.
