Q: Why did we have to wait so long for the 2020 version of "Big Brother"? It seems like an ideal show for the COVID-19 era. Test all the contestants to be sure they are COVID-free and then put them in isolation where they will be perfectly safe.

You're right that "Big Brother" is better suited than most shows to film during an isolation period, but even a show about isolating people from society had to make some concessions to the pandemic.

The producers were reportedly just starting to cast the new season when the outbreak hit, so they decided to make it an all-star version instead. Those cast members had already been vetted and were familiar with the show, meaning the producers didn't have to continue looking around for new blood.

The King of Staten Island

Dealing with the loss of his firefighter father, Stan, who died during a hotel fire, 24-year-old unemployed high school dropout Scott Carlin (Davidson) lives with his mother, Margie (Tomei), and his sister, Claire (Apatow), on Staten Island, New York. Dreaming of being a tattoo artist, Scott practices on his friends and is eventually asked to do one professionally. After drawing one line of his first professional tattoo, he runs away. Upon returning home, the father of the man he was supposed to tattoo (Burr) turns up at the house, furious at Scott, but is talked down by Margie, whom he finds extremely attractive. When the relationship between Ray and Margie blossoms, Scott is informed that Ray, like his late father, is a firefighter, and Scott is hell-bent on breaking up the couple.

The Burnt Orange Heresy

Art critic James Figueras (Bang) and his American lover, Berenice Hollis (Debicki), are summoned to an estate in the upscale resort area of Lake Como in northern Italy to see powerful art collector and dealer Joseph Cassidy (Jagger). Cassidy hopes the pair will help him gain access to his reclusive neighbor, artist Jerome Debney, (Sutherland). Figueras' task is to steal Debney's unseen body of work from his studio by any means necessary. However, the thief's ambition begins to get the better of him as the duo's mission becomes less than straightforward.
