Q: When are we going to get a new season of "The Walking Dead"?

First we have to get through the last season, but that, at least, has a date on the schedule.

You may have forgotten, since it was a while ago, but the Season 10 finale was pulled from the AMC schedule back in the spring due to the pandemic shutdown.

However, the producers recently announced that the Season 10 "finale" will air in October. I'm now putting that in quotes because they also announced that they were adding six more episodes to the season and will air them in "early 2021."

After months of uncertainty, it's almost time to welcome some old friends back into our homes. TV fans are hoping to see lots of their favorite characters in the upcoming fall season, even though premiere dates haven't been nailed down quite yet.

Beat Shazam, on Fox

Three teams compete to identify hit songs in back-to-back episodes of this game show. Jamie Foxx hosts with his daughter Corinne, presenting the world's biggest hits for contestants to name, vying for a shot at the final round and million dollar prize.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, on Bravo

The ladies are getting glammed up at home for this reality series' first virtual reunion, and they have a lot to talk about. This season, the cast traveled to Rome, had major milestones as mothers, and made a "frenemy" of supermodel Denise Richards.

Q: We missed the very last episode of "Elementary" because of a football game. Can you please tell us what happened to everyone?

[It goes without saying that there are spoilers ahead -- but there, I said it anyway. You've been warned.]

In keeping with a show that generally managed to keep a light tone even as it dealt with grisly murders, serial killers, and so on, "Elementary's" characters all live happily ever after. Maybe even the villain.

Not without a couple of scares, though.

Love Island, on CBS

A group of gorgeous singles come together at a beautiful villa, looking for love and new relationships. They will need to find the right one, since being dumped means getting dumped from the island as well. Arielle Vandenberg hosts this new season.

The critically acclaimed NBC TV series "A.P. Bio" may not have amassed a large enough audience to stay on network television after its second season, but fans can breathe a sigh of relief: the series created by former "Saturday Night Live" cast member Mike O'Brien is not over yet. It returns Thursday, Sept. 3, on NBC Universal's new streaming service, Peacock.

The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons - Ever!, on ABC

Hosted by Chris Harrison, this special series looks back at 18 years worth of romance, heartbreak and drama from both "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette." Each episode chronicles a fan-favorite contestant's story and looks at where they are now.

Q: When should we expect Season 3 of Amazon Prime's superb thriller "Jack Ryan" to appear?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Will "eventually" do you? How about "sometime"? The pandemic has made predicting these things nearly impossible, but I can say that it will happen.

Amazon cut a deal for Season 3 back in February 2019, before the second season even aired. Then the second season was released in late October and it was a hit -- even more successful than the first, in fact -- and so Amazon was surely even more excited to be in the "Jack Ryan" business.

And then the pandemic hit.

New Releases for the week of August 30 - September 5

Irresistible

Democratic political consultant Gary (Carell) heads from D.C. to the small town of Deerlaken, Wisconsin, to convince a retired veteran (Cooper) to run for mayor. In a world overrun by the living dead, the isolated Mi'kmaq reserve of Red Crow discovers its Indigenous residents are immune to the zombie plague. Cut Off

Based on the international bestseller by Sebastian Fitzek and Michael Tsokos, this film follows coroner Paul Herzfeld (Bleibtreu), who finds a capsule inside the skull of a mutilated corpse. The capsule contains the phone number of his estranged daughter, who has gone missing. Paul enlists the help of a young artist (Bauer), and together they follow a series of similar clues left behind by the killer inside the bodies of various victims. As their investigation uncovers a more sinister plot, everything points to an isolated island, which Paul must find a way onto amid a winter storm.

Director: Christian Alvart. Stars: Moritz Bleibtreu, Jasna Fritzi Bauer, Lars Eidinger, Fahri Yardim, Enno Hesse, Christian Kuchenbuch, Urs Jucker, Barbara Prakopenka. 2018. 132 mins. Thriller.
