Q: Sometimes on "The Golden Girls," Dorothy says she's from Queens, but sometimes she's from Brooklyn. Which one is it and why does it vary?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

"The Golden Girls" has been rerun so often on so many channels that the chronology is a little foggy, to say the least, and so it's easy not to notice the fact that it's only in the show's pilot that she says she's from Queens. (The pilot episode is the one produced for the network as proof of a concept. If the network likes it, it typically orders a whole season.)

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

This year, after a two-year hiatus, Fleet Week returned to New York City. I love it! What's better than seeing a bunch of Navy SEALs infiltrate the M&Ms store. Of course, [it] kicked off today [May 25] with the parade of ships up the Hudson River. At first, I thought "[Wow,] the marketing for 'Top Gun' is insane!"

Dumbledore enlists Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Redmayne) to help him and, together, they lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and a Muggle baker on a dangerous mission. The Worst Person in the World

Jule (Reinsve) is not what one would generally refer to as a committed person. About to turn 30, she decides to change her college major and break up with her long-term boyfriend. Now that she is free to pursue seemingly endless possibilities in the world, she finds herself wavering over artistic passions and professions, wondering about motherhood and navigating relationships with two different men — one a successful comic book artist (Lie) and the other a charismatic barista (Nordrum). All of this, she hopes, will give her the answers she seeks regarding her identity and capacity for happiness.

Director: Joachim Trier. Stars: Renate Reinsve, Anders Danielsen Lie, Herbert Nordrum, Hans Olav Brenner, Maria Grazia Di Meo. 2021. 128 minutes. Comedy/Drama.

See For Me

Sophie (Davenport), a blind woman, is cat-sitting in a secluded mansion when she finds herself to be the victim of a home invasion by thieves looking for a hidden safe. The only way she can defend herself is by using a phone app called "See For Me," which connects her to a volunteer across the country who will act as her eyes and, in this case, hopefully help her survive. Thankfully, Sophie is connected to Kelly (Kennedy), an army veteran who spends her days playing first-person shooter games. Still, if she wants to survive the night, Sophie will need all the help she can get.

Director: Randall Okita. Stars: Skyler Davenport, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Laura Vandervoort, Kim Coates, Keaton Kaplan, George Tchortov. 2021. 92 minutes. Crime/Drama.

After one last hiatus of the season (this one just one week long), fans are excitedly waiting for "Superman & Lois" to return; the series' second-season finale airs Thursday, June 28, on CW. Aptly titled "Waiting for Superman," fans are hoping the finale will answer a few questions and give a few hints for what's next in store for the Man of Steel and his family.

Q: I just saw a listing for a show called "Mixed-ish." Is that connected to "Black-ish" somehow?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

"Mixed-ish" is directly linked to fellow ABC sitcom "Black-ish" — it is, in fact, a prequel.

Not only that, but both share a sort of "Ish"-iverse with a third series, "Grown-ish," which aired on ABC's cable sibling, Freeform.

All three were created by Kenya Barris ("Cheaper by the Dozen," 2022) and based loosely on his own life and that of his wife, Rainbow Edwards-Barris.
