Q: My husband and I recently discovered "Shetland" and have enjoyed every episode. However, the most recent one, in season 3, I believe, about the disappearance of a young man on a ferry, ended abruptly, leaving several unanswered questions! There were on

I have some good news for you: You have more "Shetland" to see. I often have to tell people that their favorite show has left them hanging from a cliff forever, but in this case there is resolution available.

Season 3 of the show actually has six episodes, with the final one providing answers in the case of the ferry disappearance. I can't say why you only saw two of them, since I don't know where you were watching the show -- there are various options, which is part of the problem.

Actors seem to have two responses to ending a long-running series: Either you take a break, or dive right back in. Of the three other main stars of "Royal Pains," Brooke D'Orsay is on a break, Mark Feuerstein is right back in and Paulo Costanzo dove back in so fast he's already on a break from his follow-up project.
