The New York City marathon was held yesterday, and Kenyan runner Evans Chebet was the men's champion with a time of two hours, eight minutes and 41 seconds. Two hours, eight minutes and 41 seconds: the fastest anyone has ever gotten from Staten Island to Central Park.

Q: How on Earth did they get Paul McCartney to be in "Give My Regards to Broad Street"? I just saw it and it was truly bad.

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

It actually didn't take much convincing, since the "they" in that equation was the great Paul McCartney himself. "Give My Regards to Broad Street" (1984) was the ex-Beatle's idea from start to finish.

"I've been trying to make a movie for a while," McCartney told The Oklahoman newspaper at the time of the film's release. "Just 'cause I like the sort of ambiance of movies, the idea of being in them. A lot of people wanna be in movies, you know, and I'm no different."

Don't Worry Darling

It's the 1950s and Alice (Pugh) and Jack (Styles) are living in Victory, a seemingly perfect community that is home to a group of men working on a top-secret project and their families. When cracks begin to form in the surface of her otherwise perfect life, however, Alice soon begins to realize that things may not be exactly as they seem in Victory, and she begins to wonder just what, exactly, she is doing there in the first place. Q: Remember the sitcom "227"? Was that a spinoff of "The Jeffersons"?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Despite the presence of Marla Gibbs as a sardonic, level-headed wit on both shows, "227" is not a spinoff "The Jeffersons."

Gibbs played Flo, the housekeeper, on all 11 seasons of the classic sitcom "The Jeffersons" from 1975 to 1985. The year it was canceled, "227" premiered, starring Gibbs as the matriarch of a family that was part of the community living in a mid-rise apartment building in Washington, D.C.

Q: I've gotten hooked on that New Zealand show "Wellington Paranormal" on CW. When is it coming back?

Author:
Adam Thomlison / TV Media

Unfortunately, "Wellington Paranormal" has gone on to the grave. But unlike so many of the perpetrators they chase on the horror-mockumentary series, it likely won't rise from the dead. It was announced well ahead of Season 4's debut in New Zealand that this would be the show's final season.

Late Laughs for the week of November 20 - 26

Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Kanye [West] is back on Instagram after his account was restricted because of the anti-Semitic posts. ... Today he posted ... "I lost 2 billion dollars in one day and I'm still alive. This is love speech. I still love you. God still loves you. The money is not who I am. The people is who I am." ... Does anyone else feel like we're about to find out that, for the past 20 years, Kanye has been a Sacha Baron Cohen character?
