Q: There are two different films entitled "The Island" -- one is an action film with Michael Caine that came out in 1980, while the other is a more recent sci-fi one that came out in 2005. But it's always the sci-fi one I see in the television listings. W

There are a couple of harsh realities that figure into your question. One is the harsh-for-filmmakers reality that you can't copyright a title, and the other is the harsh-for-Michael Caine reality that he isn't the bankable star he used to be.

New Releases for the week of Feb. 17 - 23

A Star Is Born

Country music legend Jack Maine's (Cooper) struggles with alcohol have affected his career, but when he meets the beautiful and talented singer-songwriter Ally (Lady Gaga) at a bar, he begins to turn his life around. The two of them begin a romantic relationship, and with his help and connections, she begins to build her own musical career. As Ally's fame begins to eclipse Jack's, he finds himself drawn back to his destructive habits, but his personal issues don't just affect his own career anymore, but Ally's as well.

Robin Hood

Upon his return after fighting in the Crusades, Lord Robin of Loxley (Egerton) discovers that he's been declared dead, and his land and wealth have been seized. In fact, many of England's citizens have had their wealth stolen by the sheriff of Nottingham (Mendelsohn), who is using it to fund a war. Little John (Foxx), the father of a boy whom Robin tries to save, convinces him to fight against the injustice, and together they begin stealing back the people's money and distributing it to the poor.

Can You Ever Forgive Me?

Once-successful biographer Lee Israel (McCarthy) has been struggling since the flop of her most recent book, and her agent seems unable to secure her any more work due to a belief in the industry that her style of biography is no longer in demand. Desperate for money, she begins forging and selling letters by deceased actors and writers using her friend Jack (Grant) as a liaison between herself and potential buyers. As their fraud continues to fetch fantastic sums of money, the pair find themselves turning to even more daring crimes. This film is based on a true story.

The Bold and the Beautiful

With Liam at her side, Hope does all she can to remember the details of the night Beth died. Zoe is shocked by what Flo tells her, so she calls her father and demands an explanation. Katie tells a stunned Wyatt what Thorne got her for Valentine's Day. Bill talks to Justin about ways he can get his family back.

He tries to send her away, but she says she's only there to support him as a friend. Nick and Phyllis look back on memories of their long and storied relationship. Nick then gives her the sign from the bar where they celebrated their wedding.

Q: What can you tell me about the return of "When Calls the Heart"?

I can tell you that it will be coming right on schedule.

Fans have been waiting a while for news of the sixth season of Hallmark's beloved historical drama, but Hallmark has kept faith with them by sticking to (basically) the exact same schedule it has for the past three seasons: After airing a special Christmas episode on Dec. 25, the show is returning on Feb. 24.
