Adam Thomlison / TV Media

"Some kind" of prequel is a good way of describing it. "Little Monk" was a web series produced by USA Network that never aired on television.

It was produced to coincide with the quirky detective show's eighth and final season. USA vice-president Alexandra Shapiro said it "felt like a great way to send off the series in its final season and give fans some insight into a small part of his childhood."
