Q: I didn't see the newest "Star Trek" movie, but is it true that it was a remake of "The Wrath of Khan"?

Not exactly.

I could say "spoiler alert" here, except that this is the sort of secret that's been out for a while now: the villain of "Star Trek Into Darkness" (2013), played by Benedict Cumberbatch, was indeed Khan, a longstanding bad guy in the old "Star Trek" universe.

Indeed, producer and director J.J. Abrams has admitted that the secrecy about the character leading up to the release of the movie was a mistake.

Blue Bloods, on CBS

An off-duty cop's plan goes awry when he tries to stop a bank robbery and the thieves steal his gun, only to wound a bystander. Elsewhere, Frank (Tom Selleck) has a dilemma when he's attracted to an acquaintance of Erin's (Bridget Moynahan).

Viewers seem to have a love-hate relationship with one of TV's hottest trends. Some romance reality TV series disappear as quickly as they arrived on the scene. Anyone remember Fox's "Temptation Island?" Does "Mr. Personality" ring any bells?

The Taste, on ABC

Culinary competitors compete to impress a panel of esteemed judges in this season premiere. Four culinary superstars coach teams of four in the hopes of creating the best flavors, which will later be evaluated in a "blind spoon" challenge.

Those post-Christmas blues have no place in North America this year, at least for "Downton Abbey" fans. With the dawn of 2014 comes a gift that far exceeds anything you found under the tree: the eagerly anticipated new season of the acclaimed period drama is upon us at last.

Tournament of Roses Parade, on NBC

Weather anchor Al Roker and "Today" host Hoda Kotb kick off the New Year by bringing viewers coverage of this year's lavish Tournament of Roses Parade. Featuring 44 elaborate floral floats, the popular parade is celebrating its milestone 125th year with a "Dreams Come True" theme.

Q: What's the deal with the yogurt on "Burn Notice"? I've been watching it on DVD recently, and it seems like that's all they eat.

According to series star Jeffrey Donovan and series creator Matt Nix, it was just a joke that sort of stuck.

"It was just something that was written into the script by Matt," Donovan told E! News. "For some reason, every time I open the fridge, it says, 'All there is is yogurt.'"

It began in the first episode and was referred to multiple times afterward.

New Year's Eve With Carson Daly, on NBC

Carson Daly rings in the New Year with some of today's hottest musical acts. In addition to welcoming musical guests, Daly brings holiday revelers all of the action from Times Square, New York's iconic New Year's destination.
