A group of lifelong best friends are inspired to travel to the Super Bowl in hope of meeting their favorite football player, Tom Brady. Having recently received some troubling news, Lou (Tomlin), a huge New England Patriots fan, is supported by her friends Trish (Fonda), Maura (Moreno) and Betty (Field) during her recovery, becoming an unlikely quartet of football fanatics in the process. Inspired by the impending retirement of the Patriots' star quarterback, the group fly to Houston to meet their hero and celebrate one last adventure together. Overcoming travel obstacles and a persistent Super Bowl security crew along the way, these friends set out to prove that age is nothing but a number.
Marked for retirement and still coming to terms with the recent death of his daughter, Det. Boyd (Hauser) is pulled back into action and is tasked with leading the investigation into recent killings centered around the magic and rituals of an African tribe. Boyd seeks help while reviewing the mystical-themed crime scenes, eventually forming a team with an African Studies academic, Prof. Mackles (Freeman). Uncovering and exposing secrets long buried and forgotten, the unlikely pair are pushed to their limits while tracking the killer — and saving themselves.

Disconnected from school and often at odds with his mother, Quinn (Heche), William becomes enamored with tornados that become an unspoken connection with his father. William meets Zane (Baldwin), a storm-chasing colleague, and is introduced to the dangerous and enticing world of scientific storm chasers. An impending superstorm, which seems to be heading toward William’s homestead, ensures that destiny and family intertwine in this action suspense thriller.
